After four decades of drag racing at the Wild Horse Motorsports Park, this year will be it’s last. As expected the NHRA was prepared with a proper send off.
After close races with Mike Salinas and Steve Torrence, Justin Ashley makes another final round to line up against Shawn Langdon. Justin is 8 – 5 over Langdon which is tied for the most against any opponent. Both running 3.7’s at 329 mph, it was not easy but the Phillips Connect team comes away with another Wally thanks to a great car and reaction time.
Robert Hight and Ron Capps have raced each other almost 100 times in elimination rounds! After Arizona Hight is now up 9 – 3 in finals after being down by 1 at the start of last season. The light came on and the AAA funny car never trailed. Robert and crew chief Jimmy Prock supplying nothing but consistency with yet another great pass. #9 qualifier had not won this race since 2003.
2022 Pro-Stock Rookie of the Year Camrie Caruso ran a very close race against Bo Butner for her first career Wally. Also Newly merged KB-Titan racings first win of the season. Becoming only the second driver to win at Wild Horse from the 11 seed.
Arizona Nats will be missed.
