Crazy weekend of racing in Daytona with the 3 plus hour rain delay that had the race finishing with a Green-White-Checker around 2:40 am EST! Scary crash right at the finish that sent Austin Dillon’s car up and over numerous cars and into the catch-fence! Thankfully nobody was seriously injured and absolutely amazing that Austin was able to walk away under his own power. The reactions of drivers, crew members and fans goes to show LIFE is more important then racing. The many crew members that raced out to Dillon’s upside down car to check and help, rescue personal rushing to all the cars involved, the concerned reactions of drivers and subdued celebration of the winning team confirms that this is a community that cares for one another regardless if they are teammates or competitors.
With that said, it was great race with Dale Earnhardt Jr taking the checkered flag! It was a 1-2 finish for Hendrick Motorsports, as Jimmie Johnson finished 2nd behind Junior.
