Well the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello season has to come to an end and what a year it was! The Auto Club Finals in Pomona capped off the 2015 with some great Racing! Congratulations to Shawn Langdon and his DSR crew, Del Worsham (2015 Champion) and his Kalitta Crew and Allen Johnson and his Mopar crew on their victories!
TOP FUEL
Shawn Langdon (DSR) defeated the #1 qualifier & 2015 Champion Antron Brown in the Final Round. Langdon got by Doug Kalitta and Brown got by Richie Crampton (Lucas) in the Semi’s.
FUNNY CAR – 10 of the 16 cars qualified with runs under 4.000 seconds………WOW!
Del Worsham (Kalitta) was able to follow up his 2015 Championship deciding Semi win with a victory and the Wally over Tommy Johnson Jr. (DSR) in the Final Round. Worsham raced Jack Beckman (DSR) in the Semi’s which decided the 2015 Championship. Congratulations to both teams on a great year! Johnson Jr. defeated teammate and #1 qualifier Ron Capps (DSR) in the other Semi.
PRO STOCK – Last Pro Stock race using a Carburetor as the class use Fuel Injection starting 1-1-2016
Allen Johnson (Mopar) defeated Vincent Nobile in the Final Pro Stock race using a Carburetor. Johnson defeated the 2015 Champion Erica Enders and Nobile defeated #1 qualifier Greg Anderson (KB Racing) in the Semi’s.
