Well the 2017 Mello Yello season got under way this past weekend in Pomona with the Cirlce K NHRA Winternationals and it was fantastic racing. Weather caused a little havoc, but track conditions were great and the cars were flying! Congratulations to Leah Pritchett (DSR), Matt Hagan (DSR) and Jason Line (KB / Summit Racing) on their season opening victories!
TOP FUEL
Leah Pritchett (DSR) qualified #1 and rolled all weekend! Leah got her 2nd career Wally defeating Doug Kalitta #2 qualifier in the Final Round. Leah got by teammate Tony Schumacher in the Semi and Kalitta got by the 3rd (DSR) dragster in the other Semi.
FUNNY CAR
Matt Hagan (DSR) #1 qualifier had a serious Hot Rod all weekend and took home the Wally by getting by Courtney Force (JFR) in the Final Round. Hagan defeated DSR Teammate and defending Champ Ron Capps in their Semi Race and Courtney took her Dad John Force in the their Semi.
PRO STOCK
It was KB / Summit Racing weekend in Pro Stock. Jason Line qualified #1, Greg Anderson qualified #2 and they met in the Final Round with Jason Line besting Greg Anderson for the Wally. Line defeated Bo Butner in the Semi and Anderson defeated Erica Enders in the other Semi.
