The first race of the 2016 NHRA season are in the books and congratulations Steve Torrence and Greg Anderson for the victories to start the season! Our cranks performed well, as we had all 4 Semifinalists in Top Fuel, 3 of 4 in Funny Car and 3 of 4 in Pro Stock including the Top Fuel & Pro Stock winners!
TOP FUEL
Steve Torrence was the #1 qualifier and carried that all the way to the Wally defeating Doug Kalitta in the final round. Torrence got by Richie Crampton (Lucas) in their semi round and Kalitta got by teammate JR Todd (Kalitta) in the their battle.
FUNNY CAR
Ron Capps defeated defending Funny Car Champion Del Worsham (Kalitta) in the final round. Capps got by Robert Hight (Force) and Worsham got by John Force (Force) in semi’s denying the Force camp at a shot for a all Force Final.
PRO STOCK
The top 4 qualifiers met in the Semi’s and #1 qualifier Greg Anderson (KB Racing) defeated teammate and #2 qualifier Jason Line (KB Racing) in final round. Anderson defeated Skillman in their semi and Line defeated Bo Butner (KB Racing) in the other Semi.
