The return to newly named In-N-Out Burger Dragstrip in Pomona, came a bit later than past years but well worth the wait. Recents storms that had stretched over both the track and Bryant HQ, broke for a crystal clear weekend of racing that did not disappoint.
Justin Ashley and the Phillips Connect team, still running hot on the success in Arizona. Ran in the 3.71’s for all but one round, just shy or over 330 mph with the same consistency. Stellar performance leading up to a final round with Austin Prock, for only the 4th time in their careers. Justin came off the starting line with the advantage and kept it the whole way. Two wins in a row, making the 7th of his nitro career.
Funny Car saw Matt Hagan and Ron Capps square once again. The pair have raced each other in this division 80+ times. After the Winternationals they are now tied for final rounds. Hagan came off the line first, didn’t have to lift and now has his 45th career victory. Huge congratulations to Matt and the rest of the TSR team.
Dallas Glenn comes out of Sundays race with his 5th Pro-Stock Wally, and the second this season for KB-Titan racing. Matt Hartford had a slightly better reaction time, but Glenn reels it in to win by a margin of approximately 12 inches.
Congrats to all and a pleasure seeing everyone in town.
