The first four cup races of the season have all been won by a Chevrolet, and Hendrick Motorsports going on a tear has been a big part of that. First two stages of the United 500 were largely dominated by the 5 and 24 teams, Larson and Byron taking the lead from each other on multiple occasions.
Some quick thinking during another late race caution gave Byron two new tires, and the grip he needed to pull ahead during the restart. Will credits crew chief Rudy Fugle with the great call.
Kyle Larson finished 4th in the scramble for the finish, with the other two Hendrick cars getting into the top 10. Alex Bowman in the 48 coming 9th, and Josh Berry filling in for Chase Elliott had his best Cup Series finish to date.
Kyle Busch in the 8 funnily enough finished 8. Brining RCR into into another great race for the Chevrolet teams. So far top 10’s have been mostly Chevy more times than not.
