After solid finishes throughout the first part of the season, Kyle Larson is back on the podium with his first win of the year. The second time he has won a race in Richmond happens to be the 20th of his Cup career.
This was the first Cup win for interim Crew Chief Kevin Meendering, as Cliff Daniels and the other three Hendricks chiefs have been finishing suspension for a rather hefty penalty.
Following another fast pit stop from the 5 team, Kyle was out in front for the final 25 laps. Josh Berry, who was filling in for Chase Elliott came runner up. He was really the only threat to Kyle’s lead during the final 25. Interim crew chief and driver, speaks volumes for the 9 Team and Hendricks as an organization. Alex Bowman coming in 8th to make it 3 in the Top 10.
Pior to being spun with 20 to go. William Byron had led 117 laps, and was poised to make it another HMS stacked finish.
Despite being under attack from Christopher Bell in the 20, and a gang of Fords. Ross Chastain finished 3rd bringing Trackhouse into the Top 3 once again.
