The 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series started today with the running of the DAYTONA 500. Kurt Busch (SHR) led only 1 lap, but it was the most important lap as he took the checkered flag! Chase Elliott #24 of Hendrick Motorsports won the Pole and was leading the race with 3 laps to go when he ran out of gas. Another Chevy #42 driven by Kyle Larson (Ganassi Racing) took over the lead only to run out of on the last lap. The race had multiple accidents and took out some big names including: Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Brad Keslowski, Danica Patrick, Jamie McMurray and Matt Kenseth. It was exciting start to the 2017 Season!
